Doug has been with ERIEC for 10 years and in that time has worked to establish, manage, and advance the strategic priorities and direction of this Edmonton-based organization.

Doug is a founding and current board member of the Edmonton Business Diversity Network (EBDN) and the current Chair of the WorkForce Development Committee with the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce.

Komaljeet has 11 years of experience as an Employer Liaison and she brings a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the needs of both employers and immigrant talent. She is a Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) with the Association of Professional Recruiters of Canada and holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA). She aims to bridge the gap between immigrants and their professional aspirations, ensuring their successful integration into the Canadian workforce. Her commitment to fostering inclusivity, promoting diversity, and creating opportunities for immigrants drives her work as the Career Mentorship Director. She is excited to collaborate with talented individuals, organizations, and community partners to build a thriving ecosystem that supports immigrants in achieving their career aspirations and contributes to a more inclusive society.

Shashi has completed Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Bangalore University and Postgraduate studies in Human Resources Management from Georgian College, Canada. She has been in a leadership capacity for more than 20 years and has rich experience of study and working abroad. Started as an entrepreneur, Language trainer and facilitated group workshops for newcomers in India, Canada, Philippines, Bangladesh, and Dubai and has facilitated virtual workshops for adult learners( immigrants) all over the world. She has extensive experience working with immigrants to Canada and is passionate about helping them integrate and succeed in Canada.

Kariem is an accomplished professional with a Master's in Business and experience in marketing management, project coordination, and student representation across various cultural landscapes. Kariem possesses a unique blend of skills, experience, and passion in connecting international professionals with local businesses.

As a new immigrant to Canada with international qualifications, Kariem intimately understands the challenges of entering the Canadian job market and is driven by a strong desire to help others overcome obstacles and achieve their goals, making him a compassionate and driven advocate for newcomers. Inspired by the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council's (ERIEC) mission to tackle labour market integration challenges head-on, Kariem is eager to contribute his expertise to ERIEC's impactful initiatives and to make a tangible impact in the lives of immigrant professionals.

Jacky Kyomukama, Mentorship Program Facilitator

Jacky is an immigrant and accomplished professional who has enjoyed and highly benefited from ERIEC’s extensive programs.

Working with and supporting diverse communities has been a consistent theme throughout her professional career, and she continues to be drawn to it. Jacky’s background and experience as an educator for an International School (North American Curriculum) for over 10 years. She focused on enhancing diversity and inclusion with students and staff from over 27 different countries. She has continued working with diverse teams and learned new systems, while at the same time, she has widely grown her network both professionally and socially of which both are interrelated.

The mentorship program that ERIEC offers grounded her strong commitment to humanity. Trust-based relationships are important to her and she is most passionate about supporting and inspiring confidence in new Canadians so they can maximize their potential.

She is a champion of supporting immigrants to succeed and is excited to have joined the “Mighty ERIEC Team” as a “Programs Assistant”.

Vidyashini Thamodharan, Program Assistant

Actively involved with non-profit organizations, Vidyashini has contributed to environmental initiatives and participated in various volunteer activities that promote community engagement and empowerment. Her commitment to making a positive impact extends to the successful planning and execution of fundraising events, emphasizing community well-being. Joining the 'Mighty ERIEC Team,' she is eager to leverage her skills, experiences, and passion for community engagement to enhance ERIEC's mission of integrating internationally trained professionals into the Edmonton regional labor market. Being an immigrant to Canada, she possesses a deep understanding of the obstacles encountered by newcomers. This, coupled with her strong desire to make a significant impact, has motivated her decision to join ERIEC.

The Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) is comprised of senior executives that provide leadership and guidance to this initiative. ERIEC was established in the Edmonton region to offer support to the business community in finding those individuals with the right combination of skills, abilities, and experience needed to maintain a competitive business advantage.
