Smart Connections June 14th – Registration Open!
On June 14th 2018 the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be hosting a Smart Connections event.
Smart Connections aims to help internationally educated professionals in creating sustainable career paths, whether within or outside their field of expertise. It is about information sharing and time-efficient networking between local professionals and immigrant professionals.
Theme: The Future of Work
Who is invited: Internationally Educated Professionals (Permanent Residents and Canadian Citizens).
This is a fantastic learning and networking event at no charge and is open to all professions!

Part 1: Sector Job Wayfinder Resource & How To Critically Review Job Ads
This session will provide you with an overview of a new professional Wayfinder Resource developed specifically for Internationally Educated Professionals with a background in Engineering, Finance and Science. Your presenters will provide you with information on how to use the resources to support professional job search and a short workshop on how to critically review job ads, to determine which job opportunities are a fit for your career goals.
Part 2: The Future of Work – Panel Discussion
Interested in freelancing, remote work, and the gig economy? Come ask all the questions you’ve always wanted to ask with our panel of experts and professionals, and learn about myths vs. facts regarding online and temporary work.
This 3 hour event provides vital skills about how to repackage yourself to leverage your career!

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? Parking is challenging downtown so we encourage you to use the Edmonton Public Transportation. Matrix Hotel is located only one block south of Corona Station.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No, you do not need to bring your ticket.
