Webinar: Perceptions of Employment Barriers and Solutions

ALLIES_AMaytreeIdeaJoin us on Tuesday, March 31, 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. MST for a webinar to release the new ALLIES report Perceptions of Employment Barriers and Solutions.

Widely differing perceptions of employment barriers and solutions between newcomers and employers contribute to poor employment outcomes for skilled immigrants. The consequences of this divergence in views seem to be felt more by immigrants who arrived less than five years ago, says the new ALLIES report Perceptions of Employment Barriers and Solutions.

Researched and written by R.A. Malatest & Associates and funded by the Government of Ontario, the report offers recommendations to employers, the settlement sector, governments, and newcomers on how to improve employment outcomes for skilled immigrants. Bess Ashby, Research Manager at Malatest, will first present the report’s findings at the webinar. A discussion on its recommendations by Alison Pond, Executive Director of ACCES Employment, and Nirav Patel, Sr. Manager, Recruitment and Resourcing, Ontario Power Generation will follow. Margaret Eaton, Executive Director of TRIEC (Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council), will moderate the discussion.
