2016 Global Talent Conference: Navigating Change

This year’s Edmonton Global Talent Conference drew over two hundred participants to Fantasyland Hotel & Conference Centre last Tuesday March 1, 2016.

The event organizer Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) brought in ATB’s Chief Economist, Todd Hirsch as keynote speaker. Todd spoke on “The Boiling Dilemma”, which argues that Canada is at risk of falling behind internationally or becoming economically irrelevant on the global stage if she does not seriously “up her game” in terms of creativity, innovation, risk-taking, entrepreneurialism, cosmopolitanism, community, and re-thinking environmental stewardship.

The Conference theme Navigating Change was supported by three inspiring concurrent sessions: Career Strategy Made Simple: Now, NEXT & FUTURE by Dr. Dave Redekopp;  How to be an Essential Employee by Matt Adolphe; and From 0 to Hero in 18 Months using your LinkedIn Brand by Shahid Wazed

The concurrent sessions were followed by lunch and marketplace, for networking and for participants to get to know each other, as well as the exhibitors with 12 exhibitors showcasing their products, services, and hiring potential.

Hana Elsherbini shared her strategies of how to Set Up for Success and as one of the participants shared with us “she inspired HOPE”.
