Using the programs, services and experience of its stakeholders as a foundation, ERIEC‘s own initiatives add to our community’s business and support networks without duplicating any existing services or programs.
The following is a list of immigrant serving organizations for the Edmonton Region. Immigrant services are funded by the federal and provincial governments and provided by non-profit agencies in the community. For comments or inquiries regarding other programs and services offered by these organizations, please contact them directly.
Accès Emploi is the only employment agency mandated to serve Francophones and Francophiles and provides many services and programs free of charge to assist clients to develop useful tools and the necessary skills to find and maintain satisfying employment.
ASSIST Community Services Centre
ASSIST is a non-profit that offers Integrated Services Program, Adult English Courses, Children, Youth, Family and Senior Services.
Offers employment and training programs are funded by Alberta Employment, Immigration and Industry, Service Canada, and Citizen and Immigration Canada. They also offer employment assistance programs to youth, adults and newcomers to Canada.
Provides assessment and case management services to Albertans who are seeking grant funding to attend schools that have not signed an Accountability Framework Agreement (AFA) with AEII to provide their own Assessment and Case Management Services.
Catholic Social Services is a multi-function social service agency that serves people of all faiths and cultures throughout central and northeast Alberta. Founded in 1961, the agency has grown to deliver more than 100 programs.
Changing Together: A Centre for Immigrant Women
A nonprofit, charitable organization operated by immigrant women for immigrant women. Changing Together operates a place for immigrant women to meet and work together in solving their problems and help immigrant women participate fully in Canadian life. It also assists immigrant women acquire employment skills and work experience through the volunteer program.
The Centre for Race and Culture (CRC) has worked throughout northern Alberta to foster social harmony and cultural inclusion. The Centre for Race and Culture’s (CRC) highly educated, experienced and innovative team has decades of expertise helping organizations see the intrinsic value of living and working in a diverse environment.
Edmonton Community Adult Learning Association
ECALA is one of 83 Community Adult Learning Councils funded in the Province of Alberta by the department of Advanced Education. ECALA is governed by a Volunteer Board of Directors and is accountable for its actions to its membership and Alberta Advanced Education.
Edmonton Immigrant Services Association
A not for profit organization that provides services to new immigrants, refugees and first generation Canadians.
Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers
The Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers (EMCN) is a community agency that seeks to assist immigrants and refugees, coming to the Edmonton area, achieve full participation in the community, contributing their experiences and skills to strengthen and enrich the lives of all Canadians.
Provides micro loans of up to $15,000 to internationally trained immigrant professionals, trades people and skilled workers so they may obtain the Canadian licensing or training that will allow them to gain employment in their field.
Islamic Family and Social Services Association
A non-profit registered charity dedicated to providing services in response to the social needs of the Edmonton community within an Islamic context.
Multicultural Health Brokers Co-op
Multicultural Health Brokers Co-op (MCHB) emerged out of a public health initiative to enhance maternal and infant health within immigrant and refugee communities. Since 1995, the co-operative has supported immigrant and refugee families isolated because of cultural and linguistic barriers.
WCI provides settlement and employment services to immigrants in south Edmonton. Programs include citizenship classes, computer classes, employment readiness, employment services, educational counselling, and youth services. Is an umbrella organization in collaboration with Catholic Social Services, Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers, and Indo Canadian Women’s Association.
