It is with great excitement that we welcome Yasmeen Nizam to the ERIEC (Edmonton Regional Immigrant Employment Council) Board of Directors.
ERIEC is all about helping economic immigrants achieve their maximum potential in their careers in the Edmonton Capital Region. As we look to expand our board we welcome dynamic individuals such as Yasmeen who bring with them new ideas and new opinions about the way we provide leadership and guidance to the ERIEC.
Yasmeen brings with her a wealth of experience in immigration law, litigation, and dispute resolution. She graduated from the University of Alberta with an undergraduate degree in 1986 and completed her LL.B. in 2003. Yasmeen is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, she handles the appeals of immigration decisions, spousal sponsorship refusals, and represents clients who have been found to be inadmissible to Canada. Her experience with the Edmonton Council of Muslim Communities and the Phoenix Multi-faith Society for Harmony will also bring a fresh new perspective to our Board.
Yasmeen is an associate at Fraser Milner Casgrain here in Edmonton; she also provides pro bono legal advice on permanent residence immigration matters to Edmonton Community Legal Centre.
Welcome aboard, Yasmeen, and welcome to the ERIEC team!
