On November 25th, 2019 Calgary Region Immigrant Employment Council (CRIEC) staff and Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) staff all met together to discuss each city’s program approaches, outcomes and to explore new ideas and efficiencies.
A big thank you to Immigrant Centre in Red Deer and to their Executive Director Frank Bauer for hosting this meeting.
We shared our experiences in serving professional immigrants and how we ensure our clients are welcomed and participate in the economy to their full potential. This learning exchange was a great opportunity for both teams to understand better the differences and similarities in our approaches.
We also learned about the types of challenges refugees and service providers face in Central Alberta region and the amazing supports that the Immigrant Centre in Red Deer provide through their language and settlement programs and through their Alberta Global Talent Mentorship Program.
We look forward to the next encounter with our colleagues!
