Immigrant Women in Canada: Survey

A message from the Women, Work and the Economy team

Women, Work and the Economy, a research group at the University of Waterloo, is seeking participants for a national survey that focuses on racialized economic immigrant women in Canada and their experiences in the Canadian workforce.

This project is IRCC funded. More information can be found here: https://uwaterloo.ca/women-work-and-the-economy/survey.

The survey takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and as a thank you, we are giving participants a $50 Walmart gift card.

If you are an immigrant woman who self-identify as racialized who face challenges gaining employment or achieving entrepreneurial success, you would fit the profile of people we are currently researching.

Interested survey respondents must be:

  • within the age range of 18-65 years old,
  • self-identify as a woman,
  • self-identify as a racialized person (or a visible minority),
  • have obtained permanent resident status in Canada within the past 10 years through an economic immigration pathway* (economic immigrants include those such have entered Canada through Express Entry, Provincial Nominee, Start-Up Visa, Skilled workers, etc.)
  • live in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, or Halifax

The purpose of this research is to ultimately help the Government of Canada understand how to make public policies more responsive to immigrant women's needs.
