Mentorship program for LGBTQ refugees and asylum seekers in Canada

Through The Tent Partnership for Refugees’ mentorship initiative, refugees and asylum seekers who identify as LGBTQ+ and who live in Canada, will be paired with a mentor from one of the 30+ participating companies. Mentors and mentees will have one-on-one relationships, and work together throughout one year on a range of professional development activities, such as resume writing, practicing interviews, and developing networking skills. Mentorship pairs are expected to meet at least four times throughout the program either virtually or in-person.

The mentorship program is open to all individuals who identify as LGBTQ and are refugees, asylum seeks, protected persons, or Ukrainians that have arrived in Canada via the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET).

If you are interested in participating in this mentorship program, please fill out the Registration Form HERE by November 30.

While The Tent will do their best to match all mentees, selections will be made based on availability of mentors and shared professional interests. If you are selected as a mentee, you will receive an email from Tent in January 2023, and your mentor will reach out to you in February 2023. Please note that companies are not expected to offer employment opportunities to mentees at the end of this mentorship experience.

We hope that you will take advantage of this wonderful professional development opportunity!
