Last Saturday, February 13, 2016, Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) participated in the Information Fair in Rundle Park.

I found out that Canadian Culture in the workplace is very different than back home in so many ways. I realized that if I wanted to get a professional job, I had to overcome my cultural shock by trying to understand Canadian culture.

I couldn’t believe that I was matched with a mentor so soon and her occupational background was also in Human Resources.

The question facing many Canadians today is, “How can you possibly stay positive when all you are hearing is gloom and doom?”

These last few weeks at work before the Christmas break can be taxing or terrific, depending on the seasonal demands of your job and within your organization.
